CFC 6 Results

The Canadian Fighting Championship would like to thank our loyal fans for coming out on the long weekend and showing your support for MMA at CFC 6. The card was easily the most exciting event that the CFC has put on. From the first fight to the main event, people had something to cheer about.
Here are the results from the card:
Eric Perez defeats Remi Morvan by Unanimous Decision (30×27)
Perez showed off his solid ground skills and dominated on the feet to win the decision and keep his CFC record a perfect 5-0.
Eric Wilson defeats Roland Delorme by Split Decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
Wilson used strong leg kicks that hurt Delorme and a strong leg lock-based ground game to win a Split Decision in the semi-main event. The unbeaten Wilson came from nowhere to defeat the #2 ranked Delorme and give Roland his first pro loss.
Chris Stranger submits Vanja Vojvodic by Triangle Choke in Round 1, 1:06
Peguis, Manitoba’s Chris Stranger always exciting stage entrance took a lot longer than his fight. Stranger improved to 2-1 at CFC events with a quick Triangle Choke. Submission of the Night by Stranger.
Curtis Demarce defeats Dominick Blais by Split Decision (30-27, 28-29, 29-28)
Brandon’s Curtis Demarce and Winnipeg’s Dominick Blais put on the Fight of the Night. Both fighters kept it standing and Demarce won by Split Decision.
Brent Franczuz submits Dwight Sutherland by Rear Naked Choke in Round 1, 4:20
Brent Franczuz displayed a strong top game and eventually submitted Peguis’ Dwight Sutherland late in the first round.
Lindsey Hawkes submits Jesse Ronson by Rear Naked Choke in Round 1, 4:47
It was good to see Winnipeg’s Lindsey Hawkes get the win after losing to John Makdessi at CFC 4. Hawkes came back from a very hard body shot to take over the fight and give Ronson his first pro loss.
Igor Caetano defeats Dave Letourneau by Split Decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
A unanticipated split decision win by Caetano had the crowd booing as they thought his back-pedalling throughout the last two rounds was enough to give David Letourneau the win. Caetano clearly won the first round, but many had Letourneau winning the last two.
Lee Mein defeats Kyle Cardinal by KO in Round 1, 2:57
A very entertaining fight between two Heavyweights. Cardinal had the technique and Mein had the power. Just when Cardinal thought the bigger Mein was fading, he stuck out his chin and Mein nailed him. A big KO win.
Matt Veal defeats Alex Ferrer by KO in Round 1, 1:22
Matt Veal delivered the first KO of the Night with a nice combination that left Winnipeg’s Alex Ferrer on the canvas.
Luis Cepeda defeats Jeff Pimentel by TKO(Ground ‘n Pound) in Round 1, 1:45
Once Pimentel hit the canvas, Cepeda dominated with a big ground and pound attack that was stopped by the officials for the win. Cepeda moves to 2-1 at the CFC.
